When confronted with an extreme difficulty, most us will turn to God in prayer. This instinct is almost built into us. In Psalm 50:15, God tells us:
"Call on me in the day of trouble..."
But, then when all seems to be going well, the tendency is to forget God. We place God on the back burner. It has always been that way. 3000 years ago, the children of Israel followed this pattern:
